 FAQs

  • Packet pickup will be Friday, June 6 from noon to 8:00 p.m. at Ecclesia College in Elm Springs, just off of Highway 112. You can also pick up your packet the morning of the mud run.

  • You need to bring an ID with you, along with a signed copy of the Pig Trail Mud Run waiver. Download the waiver below, or you can pick one up at registration on Friday or on race day.

  • Pig-related costumes are encouraged but any crazy get-up will work. Keep in mind that you are definitely going to get wet and muddy. You can wear your fancy hi-tech running gear but we’re gonna’ laugh at you. This race is all about fun!

  • You’re going to run a 5k, so comfortable running shoes are the way to go. The terrain is rough, so your shoes should have good tread (no spikes, football shoes, etc. – this is the Pig Trail Mud Run not the Pig Trail football or golf game.) Washable shoes would be a good idea – remember the mud! You may want to duct tape your shoes to your hooves – er feet – so they don’t come off in the muck!

  • Get a grip! Of course gloves might help you climb ropes, navigate rough terrain, climb walls, etc. If nothing else, a good set of gloves might keep some of the mud out of your fingernails. . . just be prepared that they are going to get heavy and muddy !

  • No need to worry about where to stash your dry clothes or your phone while you are slogging through this muddy mess of a fundraiser. We will keep your stuff nice and dry in our bag check area.

  • We have free outdoor showers available to wash off the mud, and personal changing tents so you can don some dry clothes. However, if you want to wear your mud around all day, we're sure inquisitive minds will wonder.

  • It is about 5k with 20+ obstacles. The distance and obstacles and their placement change slightly each year.

  • The average finish time is around an hour. Join us for the after-party!

  • The Pig Trail Mud Run is a personal challenge, not a timed race. The goal is to overcome obstacles and complete the course.

  • We welcome participants ages 14 and above. No one under 14 will be allowed to run. Participants ages 14-17 must have parental consent.

  • Invite your friends, family and co-workers to come race with you or watch you run.  We will have lots of great spectator viewing and it’s free to come watch and check out all the fun! Spectator maps will be available.  Non-runner after party tickets can be purchased for $10 (age 14 and up, kids 13 and under eat free!).

  • Bring your piglets to this year’s race and let them wallow and play in the mud while you run. Kids age 4 through 10 are invited to play in the mud, squirt each other with water, and a number of other fun, muddy activities while our volunteers keep watch over them.

They will get dirty! Be sure they are dressed for muddy play and you may want a change of clothes for them after clean-up.

We look forward to giving your piglets some muddy fun while you run. There will be a $10 charge per child to play in the Piglet Corral (collected day of race or at packet pickup).

Volunteers will be there to supervise.

  • First you get a chance to run in a fun and challenging obstacle course race in the gorgeous Ozarks of Northwest Arkansas. Every competitor will receive a medal for participating along with a Pig Trail Mud Run t-shirt. You’ll get water at a couple points along the race course plus water at the end. We wouldn’t want your pig tails dragging! You can expect other surprises in your runner bags!

  • Little known fact: while they can’t fly, PIGS CAN SWIM! You may have to piggy-paddle but serious swimming skills are not needed to finish the Pig Trail Mud Run. If you don’t want to risk it, you can go around any swimming obstacles. We have found that very few people drown in a mud puddle but life guards will be stationed at each wet obstacle.

  • Well, yeah, but you’re going to hear disdainful oinking because you are such a chicken. (Okay, so maybe that should be “clucking.”) Cmon’ bring along a herd of your piggy pals and get them to help you over the high wall and up the tough hills!

  • Is there ever an recovery party!!!! We’re gonna’ party ’til the pigs come home, or at least all afternoon. A DJ will be playing and keeping your pig’s feet doing a jig (that’s what pigs call “dancing”). Or you can just sit around and pig-out on some great food and cold beverages. Be sure your spectators or others who come with you stick around and enjoy the fun.

  • All parking will be charged.  You can pre-pay for $5 (purchase available on Eventbrite or at packet pickup), or you can pay $10 on the day of the race.

  • If you want to report on the Pig Trail Mud Run, we would love to have you attend the event. Contact us via the contact form and mention press for the necessary press credentials or to arrange an interview. Photography intended for resale must be approved by race management before the event.

  • If you thought you were hog enough to compete but now realize you just don’t have the chops, you’ve got two options: 1) you can transfer your registration to another runner by contacting info@pigtrailmudrun.org or 2) we will thank you sincerely for your donation to the Springdale Rotary Trust Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and let you go wee, wee, wee all the way home.
